HOW WE SERVE WEDDINGS

As an online luxury cake boutique, we aim to provide our clients with a simple, stress free cake experience—all of our cake prices, sizes, and designs are transparently shown on our website and orders are placed directly through the website in a streamlined ordering process (add to cart→checkout). If you are interested in a custom design or need a quote that is not already transparent on our website, a cake consultation must be purchased prior to discussion. Cake Tasting:

You can purchase and pickup our cake tasting box that contains all of our current cake flavors to enjoy at your own time. We kindly ask for orders to be placed at least 4 days in advance: Tasting Box

  • We do not offer in-person cake tastings


Wedding Cake Display/Sheet Cake:

Display: We offer 1-tier and 2-tier cake sizes — perfect for small, intimate weddings and elopements to large weddings. For clients wanting a grand cake display, we highly advise a cake "Trio" to elevate the cake display. Clients can purchase 1-3 cakes from The Designer cakes collection. This option allows our clients to mix and match the cake sizes and designs to create a more fun, dynamic, and extravagant cake display for their reception.

Sheet Cake: To fulfill any additional serving requirements, The Classic cakes—our supplemental version of a sheet cake, can be purchased and will be kept out of site most likely in the venue's kitchen, until the cakes are ready to be sliced and served to the guests.

  • How to Customize/Personalize: Our Designer cakes collection have customizable options available in each product’s drop down menu and provided order form. For a more “build your own” cake approach, clients have the option to customize/personalize their cake further by adding 1 or more of our available accent pieces to their cart along with their Designer cake order. (such accents include: custom script, floral arrangement, custom number topper, etc.)

When to Order:

For weddings with 100+ servings, we kindly ask for orders to be placed through our website at least 2 months in advance from the day of the event. If it is within 2 months, we recommend inquiring about our availability before placing your order. For clients just needing 1 cake, we ask for orders to be placed at least 1-2 weeks in advance from the day of the event.

It is advised to place your order as soon as you know your wedding date. The earlier the better because there is a chance we are fully booked and therefore, will not be able to fulfill your order. We accept orders based off of our booking availability — books are filled on a first come first serve basis by placing the order through our website. If you inquire about a specific date but have not yet placed an official order through our website, we are not obligated to reserve or keep the specific date open for you. In the unlikely event that we can not fulfill your order, you will be notified ASAP and a full refund will be issued back in the original form of payment.


Where we Serve:

We mainly service the general San Francisco Bay Area (occasionally stretching as far north to Napa and south to San Jose). For destination weddings or weddings outside of this area requiring extended travel, lodge, and/or needing to make the cake on-site/on location, please reach out to us at hello@sincerelymeraki.com and we will be happy to work with you.


Cake Consultation (custom design, request a quote):

For clients inquiring about a custom design and/or custom quote that is not already transparent on our website, a cake consultation must be purchased prior to discussion. Consultations are done via email where we speak with the client 1 on 1 about their vision. Our design team will then mock up a custom cake design that will perfectly suit the event as well as include the quote.

  • Fulfillment of a custom design is not guaranteed and is determined by the client’s design request/theme. We ask our clients to stick to our shop’s aesthetic (minimal, organic influence, and modern elegance) and allow us some creative freedom. Clients may describe and send us pictures for inspirational purposes of what they are looking for and envisioning but, we absolutely will not copy another cake shop’s design since we pride in our own ability to create a custom cake best suited for our clients in our own style.

  • We specialize in decorating with Swiss meringue buttercream and do not work with fondant. We also use real flowers for any floral accent pieces.

  • We do not tolerate bargaining or negotiating the final price of a custom designer cake.

*Cake Consultation Refund Policy: If Sincerely Meraki is not able to fulfill your request upon the initial review of the consultation form submitted with the purchase of a Cake Consultation, we will notify you via the email you have provided us with and issue back a full refund. Besides that, a cake consultation is non-refundable and the order cannot be cancelled.


Pickup in San Francisco: No Fee

We offer free curbside pickup at our studio in the general Nob Hill area of San Francisco. Oftentimes our clients pickup their cakes personally or they send one or two of their helping hands available on the day of the wedding to pickup the cake(s). The sizes of our 1-tiered and 2-tiered cakes are manageable for 1 person to handle. Our cakes are packaged in an enclosed box with ribbon tied around it which makes it easy to carry. Upon pickup, we help load the cake(s) safely into the recipient’s car and instruct the recipient how to carry our cakes. Our cakes are to be carried with both hands on the bottom to carry the weight—not by the sides of the cake box as that can damage the cake.

  • If you want to ensure that your cake(s) will fit in your vehicle, please ask us for the cake box dimensions.

Delivery to Venue: Additional Fee

Deliveries can be requested (send us an email). However, there will be an additional delivery fee separate from the cake order that needs to be purchased. Sincerely Meraki will communicate the fee to the client and if the client accepts, we will provide our client with a custom link to purchase the delivery through our website. The cost of a delivery is determined by the size/volume of the order, location of the venue (the distance — how long it takes to complete the round trip delivery from our studio in San Francisco), tolls, the time of delivery (deliveries between 9-10am and 3-6pm are subject to a surcharge due to traffic), plus additional hidden time (loading/unloading vehicle, finding the venue/parking, finding contact person to hand off the cake(s), etc)—generally adding an additional hour to the delivery time.

Once our courier reaches your venue, they will call/text the recipient (person of contact) you have provided us with to hand off the cake(s)—usually a wedding coordinator, venue staff, catering staff, etc. and that said recipient will be in charge of setting up the cake for display at the reception. Please co-ordinate and confirm with the recipient in charge of receiving and handling the cake so our couriers will be able to hand off the cake(s) seamlessly. Your catering or event staff will then slice and serve the cake(s) to your guests.

Please allow deliveries to be made within a 60 minute window from your requested delivery time. Deliveries must be made within our business operation hours of 9am-6pm.


Payment

We take all of our payments online through our website and our clients pay 100% of the cost upfront at checkout to secure their order.

For delivery fee payments and/or a custom design order, we will email our clients their own personal link to make their payment online through our website. When given the link, clients must make their payment within 72 hours to secure the delivery and/or custom order request. Failure to pay within 72 hours from the day/time the link has been emailed, results in a voided delivery and/or custom design order.

  • We do not tolerate bargaining or negotiating the final price of our cakes and/or the delivery fee.


Order Cancellations, Changes, Refund Policy

Cancellations: Clients may cancel their order with more than 30 days advance notice from the fulfillment date for a full refund in the original form of payment. If the order is cancelled within 29 and 15 days from the fulfillment date, a 50% refund will be issued in the original form of payment. If the order is cancelled within 14 and 0 days from the fulfillment date, no refund will be issued.

Design Changes: Clients may change their design with more than 10 days advance notice from the fulfillment date. Changes are subject to an additional charge or refund, depending on the change requested. Design changes will no longer be accepted within 9 days from the fulfillment date.

Flavor/Quantity Changes: Clients may change the flavor and quantity of their order with more than 20 days advance notice from the fulfillment date. Changes in quantity are subject to an additional charge or refund, depending on the change requested. Flavor and quantity of cake changes will not be accepted within 19 days from the fulfillment date.


Additional Notes:

  • We do not provide cake stands with our cakes.

  • We recommend using cake stands that are 10 inches in diameter for our cakes.

  • We highly advise keeping our cakes refrigerated at the venue and taking it out 3-5 hours prior to serving (our cakes are best served at room temp). If there is no refrigeration space at the venue, we recommend our cakes to be delivered or picked up as close to the time to the start of your reception. Our cakes can be left out at room temp (68°F-72°F) away from direct sunlight for no more than 5 hours to keep its integrity. On hotter days of 80°F and above, we don’t recommend leaving it out for more than 3 hours. The cake can be subject to damages that we will not liable to once the cake is delivered.
